As usual, I didn't attend Jared and Sarah's wedding in Santa Cruz, CA. I was here in the studio designing away. But when I saw their wedding images, I was BLOWN AWAY. Enjoy some images from their amazing day!

Senior Sessions

Posted by: Gina

Jessica has been doing some AMAZING work with our high school seniors for our Artbook Project. I have been so impressed with the way she consults with them about who they are and what they want to do with their futures and creates such artistic images with them. Take a peek at just a few she has done lately.

August is the last month to take advantage of these free senior sessions for our Artbook. If you're interested, get in touch with us soon! Contact us at 925.449.9879 or info@ultra-spective.com

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA!!!!!

posted by: Gina

Today, Anna turns... old. Ok, I wont tell.

Actually, Anna is very young for all she has accomplished in her life. I've known her for a long time, although we have a hard time computing the exact amount, since we met thru friends of cousins of friends and whatnot. Anyway, Anna grew up, went to college, was (and continues to be) an engineer, but ditched that job to start an amazing company called ultra-spective. She married a wonderful man and gave birth to two of the cutest babies on the planet. All this, and so much more in just __ years. =).

Anna is our leader... our ship would sink without her. She's created something beautiful in this company, and should be celebrated today.

Happy Birthday Anna. I love you. =).

a lesson in LOVE

Posted by Anna: I just have to share my experience at Stephanie and Peter's wedding yesterday. We met Stephanie at her parent's house where she was getting ready. My first observation was that everyone was very organized and calm. It was a pleasure photographing her getting dressed etc. However, what really hit me happened when Stephanie walked down the stairs in her gown and her father saw her for the first time. He was choked up and there was an extremely proud yet heartfelt look on his face. What I began to notice, and this continued to occur throughout the day, was that the utmost focus was on love and relationships. It was so PURE and simple. I was so touched by this overwhelming emotion that it motivated me even more to capture these relationships and the love between their family and friends. I am so grateful to be a wedding photographer and I feel privileged to have the responsibility of preserving these moments for them. At the end of the evening, I went home, kissed and hugged my mom (who was caring for my boys while I was at the wedding) and went to bed grateful for my family and friends. I'll be sure to post some of their photographs soon...

Remember you don't have to wait for a special occasion to show someone how much you love them. None of us have any guarantees in life so be sure to show PURE love everyday. So to those of you who are taking the time to read this...I wish you much happiness and love in your life : )

New Wedding Images

Posted by Gina:

When I get to the point of designing a wedding album, I usually haven't seen a whole lot of the photography. I am always busying working on other designs, marketing or other things around the studio. I am always so excited when I get to see wedding images for the first time. Since I don't go to most weddings, I really get to experience them for the first time this way.

I love seeing the beautiful dresses and details on the brides that we've talked about in their engagement preview session. I like watching the guys transform from when they come in for their consultations in jeans to dashing grooms. I love seeing the look in a grooms eye when he sees his bride walking down the aisle. And family and friends surrounding wonderful couples with so much love. I could go on and on about this. Every wedding is always a little different.

But always my favorites are the bride and groom in THEIR moment... the little time that they get to pull away from everyone else for just a few minutes and enjoy each other while we get to be the ones there to witness and document this love.

Here are a few from some recent weddings... Amy and Paul at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA Tiffany and Arthur at Boa Ventura in Livermore, CA Joe and Cindy at Scott's in Walnut Creek, CA Lesli and Dan at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, CA

An exciting and busy 4th of July wedding weekend!

We are so excited to have the opportunity to share two very exciting weddings with two great couples this weekend!

Matt and Maria are getting married on the 4th of July here in downtown Livermore with the ceremony at St. Michael's Church and reception at Alden Lane nursery. A wedding on a day with fireworks... what a great combination!

Angie and Danny's wedding is Saturday in Monterey. We had so much fun on their engagement session at the Dublin Ranch Golf Course... we can't wait to do some exciting stuff on Cannery Row. They are such a fun couple and we're sure they are going to have a crazily energetic day!

Congrats to both of these amazing couples!

Arthur & Tiffany

posted by Anna: Arthur & Tiffany were married May 24, 2008, during Memorial Day Weekend at BoaVentura de Caires Vineyard in Livermore California. There was a record heatwave the weekend before and we were all concerned that their weekend would be too hot. But it's sometimes strange how things turn out...on May 24th it was a cloudy day that threatened to rain! But they didn't let the weather hold them back and it turns out that it did not rain and the clouds in the sky provided some amazing soft light and dramatic skies. Arthur and Tiffany are such an amazingly outgoing couple...it was a LOT of fun photographing their wedding.

Art Project "From Endings to New Beginnings"

The artists at ultra-spective photography : music :design have embarked on an extensive community art project and are looking for participants. This art project is a photographic essay that examines the graduating class of 2009 in the San Francisco Bay Area who will soon be crossing the threshold from carefree youth to responsible adulthood.

These youth will make their mark on the evolution of our culture, if they haven’t already started to do so. A closer examination of who they are today will give us a unique perspective of our current values, as the adults who molded these youth, and as well as give us a glimpse into the times to come.

They are all different in countable ways: values, ethnicities, neighborhoods, familial income, hobbies, strengths and weaknesses. Yet, they have one very strong link: They are the graduating class of 2009 and as a whole have an impact. Whether they become carpenters or accountants, lawyers or loiters, baristas or film makers, politicians or business owners, they are all a reflection of our community.

What are their dreams, hopes and goals? What is most important to them? How do they see the future? As we evaluate the answers to these questions through this photographic essay, we will begin to learn more about who we are and what we are becoming.

This photographic essay will be published in early 2009 and will be titled “From Endings to New Beginnings”. Ultra-spective is looking for participants to be photographed as part of this project. All class of 2009 high school seniors are eligible to participate and will receive a free creative portrait session from ultra-spective photography. Diversity and personality are the main focus rather than appearances so all 2009 seniors are worthy to participate. However, there are only a limited number of openings through the end of August.

Theo's Blue Eyes

Posted by Anna: Theo is now 2 months and here's a look at his latest photosession. I know I'm biased, but he's the cutest baby I think I've ever seen. He looks just like his daddy with his blue grey eyes, light brown hair and clef chin. And yes, he's still huge...he looks more like a 6 month old. He's doing well despite the problems with his kidney. He has a urinary reflux disorder and has been on antibiotics since 1 week old. All we can do right now is monitor it, hope he grows out of it, and if not, he may need surgery when he's about a year old. Dr. Barnett at Kaiser in Livermore is an awesome pediatrician. We all remain positive that he'll just grow out of it! Meanwhile, he's either sleeping, smiling or has that serious "Tim" look on this face when he's figuring stuff out. He is a very content and happy baby.
