Natural Details

Posted by: Lia

Where do I begin about this wedding? I'll start when I first heard about some of the details of the wedding. Anna told me that they would be getting married in a creek. All I could think was "Isn't that going to be freeeezing??"

It turns out this wedding was one of the most refreshing weddings I have been to in some time. The drive to Big Sur was amazing. The weather and scenery were perfect. I think Anna and I both knew we were in for something special. Every detail had such a natural feel, down to the herb wedding favors. My basil plant is flourishing as we speak!

As you can see by the photos, the ceremony in the creek was incredible. Congratulations on your marriage Jason and Heather. You put together such a beautiful wedding! (With a cake that has yet to be topped!!)

A few photos and words from our UBS party

In case you missed it, we held a really great event in our gallery studio in July hosted by UBS Financial. A great time was had by all here in the studio.

Checkers catering provided some great appetizers, we had wine from Wente Vineyards here in Livermore, CA, and ultra-spective's own DJ Tim Vickroy provided some great international lounge music for us.

Just wanted to say thank you to all that came and a huge thanks to Ken Coburn and Shri from UBS financial in Walnut Creek for hosting this great event!!

Funny stuff! (And an awesome wedding...)

Posted by: Gina

We have a really great client. Her name is Carleen Marcorelle. Carleen has been awesome to us here at the studio already, and is great at staying in touch about her daughter Cindy's wedding. She called the studio the other day to share a funny story with us.

Her friend at work was raving about the photographer at her cousin's wedding. After explaining how they were the most amazing photographers and the photos were perfect, she said she wished Carleen could dump her wedding photographer for Cindy's wedding and use the one from the wedding she attended. Carleen's awesomeness proceeded to tell her no - that she was really happy with the photographers that she already had booked for the wedding - the experiences had been great with ultra-spective.

After sharing more details about the wedding, turns out... the wedding photographers are us. We are awesome. ;) Anna shot this wedding of some clients who have become friends of the studio as well... Jason and Heather Ryder.

Here are a few images from the wedding, and more to come soon in a blog from Lia about how original and awesome Jason and Heather's wedding was!

Nothing Can Stop Me!

Posted by Anna : Let me just come clean right now before you see me with a boot cast on my left leg...I broke a bone in my foot. Of course you want to know how I did it. I was carrying a box down some stairs. I wasn't really paying attention and I missed the last step and fell immediately to the concrete. All I remember hearing was "Oh My God Annnnnaaaa" from Jessica. I didn't want to admit it was broken and went several days before having xrays.

So I'm wearing a boot cast for 4 - 6 weeks. I'm allowed to put some weight on it but I have crutches for when it's really hurting. Since I've been through natural child birth twice (yes, that means no drugs, no epidural, even with an 11lb baby), I have a very high pain threshold and haven't used the crutches since day 2.

I feel really lame about this whole thing. It was totally preventable and it shouldn't have happened.

But here's the kicker...we have three weddings this weekend. I'm lead on the Ramirez wedding and there's no way that I'm going to miss this wedding! Rhyan and Danielle are so awesome and I'm really looking forward to creating awesome photographs for them. This silly broken foot won't stop me!

LESSON: Pay more attention when coming down stairs!

CONGRATULATIONS DERICK AND SHEILA!!

Posted by: Gina

We couldn't be more excited to congratulate Derick and Sheila on their engagement! We met Derick as a client at the studio, and they have both become friends of everyone here at ultra-spective. They dropped by last week to let us know they are engaged - even though Sheila didn't bring the rock to show us! (Ok, it's being sized... we'll forgive her.) We were elated to hear the news! They are the sweetest people, and the cutest couple!

We look forward to hearing about all the details of your special day at the ranch and couldn't be happier that you guys are engaged! CONGRATS... and YAY!!!

The stuff that fairy tales are made of

Posted by: Gina I've heard COUNTLESS times about how this image... ... is the stuff that fairy tales are made of. Jessica won an award on this image from Northern California Professional Photographers (NCPP) and since, it's been hanging on the wall in our studio. People continuously comment on how it looks like it is out of a storybook, or that is a fairy tale. Or that it couldn't have happened at a "real wedding". Dublin Ranch Golf Course provided a great setting for this - yes, at a real wedding. Our clients in the image, Page and Juan, came in yesterday for their album preview and saw the image on the wall. I caught Page pointing it out to Juan, and Juan told us all about how he looked amazing in the photograph, in true Juan fashion. But I think they both enjoyed seeing it on the wall and knowing that they were a part of this piece of amazing art that Jessica was able to make with them. So thank you Page and Juan - for trusting us to capture lifelong memories on your wedding day and creating amazing award winning images with ultra-spective!

Can't wait for this wedding!

I am so excited to photograph Rhianna and David's wedding in October at the Nine's in Brentwood, CA. It was such a great time photographing their engagement session in their neighborhood in Brentwood.

They met playing cat and mouse on the freeway, so we did a spin on how they met for their engagement session. We put a 1950s feel into the session and they came up with an awesome car and motorcycle for the session. David was a little nervous to start, and I was assigned the task of getting him to smile for at least one of the photos. Mission was accomplished, and David even said at the preview session that he never had so much fun being photographed. It felt good that I could make it fun and easy for him.

I included a few images from the shoot as well as a few spreads from the awesome custom guest book that Gina designed for them. She really captured the entire story I was trying to tell with their session.

Thank you Rhianna and David for allowing me the opportunity to create pieces of art for your engagement session. I really look forward to creating more lifetime memories on your wedding day!
