Reflection and Anticipation

Posted by Anna : The Year 2008 just went by so fast.  I know that the older one gets, the faster time seems to go by, but this is just ridiculous.  I remember the summer between 2nd and 3rd grades (the summer of my first camera) when time just seemed to stand still and I was actually relieved to go back to school.  That seems like several lifetimes ago.

But however fast it all seemed to go by, a LOT did happen this year...we renovated a building for the studio and moved it, Theo was born and it's been a roller coaster of emotion with his kidney problems, Enzo started expressing himself in complete sentences and exerting his free will ("No I'm Not" is current phrase), Tim began working with a company designing custom robots and I photographed many weddings and made so many new friends.

As I look forward to 2009, I can see that it will be another full year but I'm hoping to find a more consistent rhythm both at the studio and at home with the boys.  I plan to work on being in the moment more and just breathing.  I'm excited about how that will also allow me to express moments through my photography.

ultra-spective will be celebrating its 5th anniversary in January so look for more news about that.  I'm looking forward to seeing my new friends as well as meeting new friends as they get engaged, married and have babies!

So here's to living a balanced life of family, love from the heart and appreciation for every moment...cheers : )

Santa is Cool!

Santa's visit was beautiful...We love the warm glow and the sparkle of lights, gifts and amazement. Even little ones that weren't so sure about Santa weren't left out of the experience.

Santa is visiting...

Posted by Anna:  This is probably my favorite event at the studio...the decorations, the cool weather and the excitement of little ones.  If you have children and you'd like them (as well as yourself) to experience visiting Santa Claus in a calm and personal manner without the chaos of the mall, then mark your calendar for Saturday December 6th. Santa will be in our studio for portraits between 10am and 4pm.

Portraits are only $10 (includes one 4x6) and packages are only $25 (2-5x7s and 2-4x6s)! This is an experience that you and your children will appreciate and remember.

Appointments are strongly recommended. Walk-ins will only be accepted on a limited basis as time allows in order to provide an enjoyable experience for all. Please feel free to let your friends know about this Santa opportunity and encourage them to make an appointment!  Our phone number is 925.449.9879.

By the way, the baby in the flyer is Enzo when he was only a month old at the end of 2006...he certainly doesn't look anywhere near that innocent anymore....crazy how time flies by!

Giving Thanks...

I really can't believe Thanksgiving is only a few days away.  It seems time has been going by so fast and I really want to slow it down...so I took some time today to just be thankful and there's so much to be thankful for!

I am blessed to have two amazing, smart and cute boys and an awesome, patience, handsome and loving husband.  I can't believe I thought I didn't want children because now I can't imagine life without them and the experiences we have together.  They continue to teach me to have fun, live in the now and that the little things really do matter.  I am making changes in my life to be able to spend more time with them.

I am also so thankful for being able to be a portrait and wedding photographer.  It's been awhile since I've consistently been behind the camera.  With Jessica no longer with ultra-spective (we all miss her and wish her well), I am back behind the camera all of the time and I truly LOVE it.  This is why I started the company...not to be buried behind the paperwork.  I get to meet and talk to everyone and capture real moments that will be treasured for generations.  I especially love doing the Baby's First Year program and documenting the little ones change and growing up...it really is so satisfying and I still get sentimental!  For this, I thank all of you (all of my dedicated clients) for making this part of my life possible.

And of course I must give lots of thanks to ALL of my parents for sacrificing so much to give us everything they possibly can and LOVING us unconditionally. I really don't know what I'd do without them.

So take a moment to give thanks...it does wonders for slowing down that ticking clock.

It's been a while! :: Family Portrait Mini Sessions

Posted by: Gina

Just as I get on the ball with blogging more regularly, I take a vacation.  So please forgive me for having a lapse in blog posts. I took a trip to Southern California with my sister that was awesome.  I got a chance to visit some old friends, went to The Happiest Place On Earth, Venice Beach, and played on Sunday at the ESPN Zone. Most people that know me know that I am a Raider fan, but I am just a football fan in general, so I had a blast being able to watch all of the games at the same time. I have dedicated my life to own the first ESPN Zone House. =).

Back at the studio we've a great no hassle way to get beautiful family portraits for the holidays. On November 15th and 22nd, we are offering our mini portrait sessions for ANY type of session - this is a special offer for the holidays only. We know during the holidays everyone is pressed for time, so we'll set up in a park in Livermore and make it easy for you to get a family portrait that you love.

This is a great opportunity for holiday cards and prints as gifts. Call the studio at 925.449.9879 for remaining appointment availabliity!

I know you are reading....

So, if you haven't heard, we are having a contest for a few weeks for blog comments. I KNOW that people are reading our blog. I get comments on in IN PERSON all the time... from current clients, people who are interested in booking a session, people talk about it all the time.  But we want to know what you think of our blog. Is it interesting? Visually nice? Boring? Useful? A good read at all? If you are reading, why wouldn't you take a second to comment?

We're giving away print credits for blog comments. Just simple blog comments. We REALLY want to know your thoughts on our blog. So... leave us a comment. I mean... I won't beg, but I'm begging. It takes a lot of time to maintain a blog and I feel like it's important, but I want to be putting information that you want to read in it. So every week until the end of this month, if you post a blog comment, you'll be entered in a drawing for a print credit.  So easy. I just want to know what you think.

I'll post all the winners at the end of the month here in the blog.  THAT will be useful info, won't it?

I just have to say... I LOVE this weather!  I love the clouds, I loved the sprinkles on my car as I drove to work, I love the sun that has come out after it all, I love that it's cooled down from the crazy summer-ness. I am officially in love with Fall.

Does anyone else love it as much as I do?
